Elks #156 Invitational set for April 1

The Bucyrus Elks Lodge #156 has been the driving force behind one of the largest track invitational meets in the region. The annual Elks #156 Invitational is being held at the Bucyrus City Schools Athletic Complex Saturday, April 1, and is shaping up to be a tremendous event.

Bucyrus students compete at annual State DECA competition

Sixteen students from the Pioneer/Bucyrus Marketing and Media Satellite programs competed at the Ohio DECA Career Development Conference March 18 and 19 in Columbus, Ohio. To be eligible to compete, participants were required to qualify at the District competition held January 31 at Ohio Northern University.

Plumley represents Bucyrus at Franklin B Walter Scholarship program

Bucyrus High School senior Bailey Plumley represented the Bucyrus City School District during the 2016-2017 Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award program. He was recognized at the annual banquet Wednesday, March 15 at the Mid-Ohio Conference Center.

DECA recognizes outstanding Bucyrus School-based Enterprise

The School-Based Enterprise at Bucyrus High School was among 360 school- based enterprises in the United States achieving Gold Level Certification (or Gold Level Re-certification) this year and will be recognized at DECA’s International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California. The students who worked on the certification were Celina Kelley, Brittany Purcell, Andrew Randolph and Jacob Meeks, with the assistance of their advisor Ashley Severt.

Bucyrus students perform well in Rotary 4-Way Speech contest

The Bucyrus Secondary School is excited to announce that three students took top honors during the annual Bucyrus Rotary Club Four-Way Test Speech contest. Bailey Plumley finished tied for first place, with Victoria Adams taking second and Sarah Lipscomb finishing third.
