Student immunizations update from Bucyrus City Schools

Student immunizations update from Bucyrus City Schools
Posted on 09/03/2015

The start of a new school year brings many requirements for students. One requirement that can have a major impact on students is immunizations.

All students entering 7th grade at Bucyrus Middle School are required to have their TDAP immunization prior to the start of the school year. This is a legal requirement, and there are unfortunate consequences should any student not have their required immunizations.

"We have tried to communicate the importance of these immunizations directly to students and their families," school nurse Debbie Schultz said. "Our hope is that our district’s families will make sure these immunizations are administered to the child."

Starting with the 2016-2017 school year, immunizations will be required for all students in the district K-12. The district will encourage families to get these immunizations completed early.
