The Bucyrus Secondary School invites parents, guardians and community members to support the Pint Size Hero blood drive from 4-8 p.m. Oct. 17, in the Bucyrus Middle School gymnasium.

The blood drive is aimed at introducing children to the importance of donating blood. “I highly encourage folks to participate in this blood drive,” event coordinator Pat Hargis said. “Not only does it set a good example for the children, but it helps replenish blood supplies for those in need. The process only takes an hour, and your help can make a huge difference; one unit can save up to three lives.”

Individuals wishing to donate must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 lbs., and be in general good health. Valid identification is also required.

Every student who invites an adult to come and donate on his or her behalf will be recognized as a Pint Size Hero and will receive an American Red Cross thank you gift.
