The
Ohio School Boards Association is celebrating School Board Recognition
Month in Jan. 2015 to build awareness and understanding of the vital
function an elected board of education plays in our society.
School Board Recognition Month honors the members of Ohio’s 719 city,
exempted village, local and joint vocational boards of education and
educational service centers governing boards for their commitment to
providing quality public education to Ohio’s school children.
The Bucyrus City School District is joining with other districts
throughout the state to recognize the important contributions school
board members make to their communities. “Our district is very fortunate
to have a dedicated Board of Education that works closely with parents,
education professionals and community members to create the educational
vision we want for our students,” Superintendent Kevin Kimmel said. “On
behalf of the students, staff, and community, I would like to
personally thank the Bucyrus City School District Board of Education
members for all of their efforts in providing the leadership for our
schools.”
The men and women serving the Bucyrus City School District and their years of service are as follows:
- Mr. Doug Schiefer – 11 years
- Dr. Paul Johnson – 8.5 years (non consecutive)
- Mr. Adam Stone – 3 years
- Mr. Bradley Murtiff – 2 years
- Ms. Traci Wetterau – 1 year
Board of Education members will be recognized prior to the start of
the varsity boys basketball game against Ridgedale Jan. 23 at Alex Kish
Gymnasium. Bucyrus board members received certificates of commendation
from the Ohio School Boards Association during the regular January
meeting.
Again, the Bucyrus City School District would like to publicly thank
these board members for their dedicated service to our children and our
staff. For more information regarding School Board Recognition month
