Twenty-three students from the Pioneer/Bucyrus Marketing and Media Satellite programs competed at the Ohio DECA Career Development Conference March 14 and 15 in Columbus, Ohio.

Two Pioneer/Bucyrus students qualified for DECA’s International Career and Development Conference from the State Competition and will go on to compete in Orlando, Florida in April. Michelle Ford and Jesse Heinle earned a 4th place finish in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Operations Research Event.

"Having two students qualify for the International Career Development Conference in Orlando is terrific for the Pioneer/Bucyrus DECA program," Bucyrus DECA Media Instructor Jeff Funigiello said. "We have great students in this building and to have their knowledge, hard work and personality show through in these projects and be recognized at a state level is a fantastic accomplishment."

Ten additional students also placed in the Top 10 during the conference, including: Alyssa Musselman (Learn and Earn Event), Haley Fetters (Quick Serve Restaurant Management Series), Ashton Hawkins and Tommy Schulter (Finance Operations Research Event), Roni Markley and Taylor Bayless (Business Services Operations Research Event), Mark Musick and Sam Van Voorhis (Sports and Entertainment Marketing Series Event), Jaret Pollock (Business Services Marketing Series) and Ashley Keener (Personal Financial Literacy Event).
