The month of October has been designated as National Principals Month. The Bucyrus City School District is extremely fortunate to have a group of principals who work tirelessly for Bucyrus students.

Collectively, this group has nearly 90 years of experience in education. Elementary School Principal Ms. Erica Dietzel, Elementary School Associate Principal Mr. Timothy Souder, Secondary School Principal Dr. Mark Burke, Secondary School Assistant Principal Mr. Kevin Fourman and Secondary School Associate Principal Mr. Jay Dennison were recognized during the home football game against Carey and received Board Commendations from the Bucyrus City School District Board of Education Oct. 22.

“Principals are among the hardest working, yet often least recognized individuals in education,” Bucyrus Superintendent Kevin Kimmel said. “Our principals set the academic tone for their schools, and it is their vision, dedication, and determination that provide the mobilizing force for achieving student success.”

National Principals Month is a widely recognized celebration of the principalship, marked by national and state resolutions supporting the event, as well as acknowledgements from U.S. Senators and Representatives, and top government officials. For more information, please visit principalsmonth.org.
