The Bucyrus City School District is excited to announce the launch of the district's new Hall of Fame. Nominations for the inaugural class are now being accepted through November 1, 2015.

The Hall of Fame will recognize those individuals who were outstanding high school athletes, former coaches, school officials, or community members that have distinguished themselves and made positive contributions to the Bucyrus City School District. The inaugural class of the Hall of Fame will include five individuals and one team, and each class after will include two to four individuals and one team.

"We are very excited to start this new recognition program," Secondary School Assistant Principal Jay Dennison said. "Many individuals have given selflessly to our district, and it's time for us to recognize those people for their contributions."

The district is continuing its long-standing tradition of honoring athletic accomplishments for individuals and teams that achieve certain criteria while in high school through the Athletic Wall of Fame. The Bucyrus Hall of Fame, which extends beyond individual or team accomplishments, is meant to honor those who have made a significant contribution to the Bucyrus City School District.

"Over the years, there have been many people who have made a positive contribution to the Bucyrus City School District," Superintendent Kevin Kimmel said. "This Hall of Fame is going to honor individuals from the Bucyrus community who have gone above and beyond to help every Bucyrus student earn a quality education."

Those who are selected to enter the Bucyrus Hall of Fame will be honored prior to the start of a home varsity boys' basketball game. Each member of the Hall of Fame will receive an enshrinement plaque during the ceremony.

Hall of Fame nomination forms are available at the Secondary and Elementary Schools, the Lincoln Administrative Center, inside the football programs and online at bucyrusschools.org under "Alumni and Community."
