The Bucyrus City School District is set to expand on its recent addition of the bell tower in front of the Bucyrus Elementary School with the “Redmen Walk”.

The “Redmen Walk” will feature laser engraved bricks with the names of alumni, staff, community members, graduating classes and other who have been influential in the Bucyrus City School District.

“We made it clear that we needed to find a way to raise funds to help offset the Board of Education’s investment in the bell tower construction,” said Superintendent Kevin Kimmel. “With the start of the Senior Clap out at the end of the 2016-2017 school year, we thought this would be a great way for individuals and groups to commemorate their affinity for our district.”

Individuals and groups will choose from either a 4-inch by 8-inch brick or an 8-inch by 8-inch brick. The smaller brick pavers cost $50, while the larger size costs $100.

“Our goal is to have the first round of brick pavers installed prior to the ‘clap out’ for the Class of 2017 at the Elementary School,” said Kimmel. “I’m looking forward to seeing the names of our many alumni, staff and community members forever entrenched in the Redmen Walk.”

Orders are now being accepted through March 15, 2017. Orders can be placed online at http://bucyrusschools.org/community/redmen_walk, or by visiting one of the buildings in the district. Those purchasing a paver will receive a certificate of purchase.
