Bucyrus Elementary hosting Leader in Me luncheon Feb. 17
The students and staff at Bucyrus Elementary School will welcome members of the Crocus Club to a special Leader in Me luncheon Friday, Feb. 17. The event will begin at 12:00 p.m. and conclude by 2:00 p.m.
The Elementary School is a Leader in Me school, and is hosting this leadership luncheon to showcase the many activities taking place to help develop the next generation of leaders in Bucyrus.
“The Leader in Me luncheon is an opportunity for our students to put in to action the many leadership lessons they have been learning throughout the school year,” said third grade teacher Kim Haldeman. “We will host a mini-assembly for student leaders and guests prior to the luncheon, where the members of the Student Lighthouse Team will perform a 7 Habits skit as part of the entertainment.”
Second, third, fourth and fifth grade students will serve as greeters, tour guides, singers, servers and luncheon partners. Pre-school, kindergarten and first grade students prepared decorations including placemats, guest bookmarks and other various displays. The after-school program students created centerpieces and several BES art students will have artwork on display.
“Student leaders will meet and greet guests at the door and escort them to the auditorium where they will enjoy positive leadership songs,” said Assistant Principal Timothy Souder. “Students will then take our guests on a tour of our building to highlight all the positive things happening at Bucyrus Elementary School.”
Tour guide booklets were created to assist in the student-led tours during the event. Family Advocate Marie Stuckman and school counselor Debra Breidenbach coached the students on tour guide etiquette and history about Bucyrus Elementary School.
