a continuing effort to engage parents and families, the Bucyrus
Elementary School will host its first-ever "Breakfast Buddy" program.
This special opportunity for students and a "buddy" to have breakfast
together kicks off Monday, May 4.
The program, which is a spin-off of similar ideas referenced in "The
Leader in Me" book being studied by Elementary School staff, is designed
to allow each student to bring one "buddy" into the school for
breakfast on the assigned day. Each grade level will have its own
"Breakfast Buddy" day, beginning with the fifth grade May 4.
"This is a new event that we are really excited about for our
students," Elementary School Principal Todd Roll said. "We constantly
strive to help our families feel welcome in our school, and this new
program's goal is to continue building strong relationships between our
families and building staff."
The schedule for the remaining grade levels will be as follows:
Fourth Grade, May 5; Third Grade, May 6; First Grade, May 8;
Kindergarten, May 11; Preschool and Second Grade, May 12. "Breakfast
Buddies" should report to the Elementary School cafeteria by 8:05 a.m.
on their student’s designated day. The program will end promptly at 8:40
a.m. Afternoon preschool "Snack Buddies" should report to the cafeteria
at 2:20 p.m. on May 12.
Families wishing to attend their student's event should RSVP with the
form provided by the school. For more information about the new
