The Marketing Education class from the Bucyrus Secondary School competed in the preliminary District #3 DECA Conference Tuesday, October 4 at Ohio Northern University. 8 Bucyrus DECA members competed in the practice competition.

“This competition was a great opportunity for new DECA students to get an understanding of the competition environment,” said Ashley Severt, Marketing Education Instructor. “It also gave our veteran students a chance to get back in the swing of things and get focused for the competition season that kicks in to high gear later this school year.”

One student, Jacob Meeks, earned a first place medal in the Series Decision Making event. The DECA competition will begin January 31 at Ohio Northern University, where students will compete for the chance to qualify for the state DECA conference.
