With the Thanksgiving holiday just around the corner, the agenda for the regular meeting of the Bucyrus City School District Board of Education was on the lighter side Nov. 17.
High School senior Sidney Stevens received a commendation for her service as the Student Representative to the board at the beginning of the meeting. The Student Representative program has been active for the past 6 years and has been incredibly helpful to the board and the district’s administration.
“We have been very fortunate to have student representatives that have taken their role with the Board of Education very seriously,” said Bucyrus Superintendent Kevin Kimmel. “We are in the business of educating students, and it’s important we get their perspective and feedback to be able to provide them with the best education possible.”
The board approved all personnel and business items as presented. The next regular meeting of the Bucyrus Board of Education will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Lincoln Administrative Center Thursday, Dec. 15. The board’s organizational meeting, followed by the regular January meeting, will begin at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11.
