The Bucyrus City School District is excited to announce that nominations for the Bucyrus City Schools Hall of Fame Class of 2017 are now being accepted through November 1, 2016.
The Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who were outstanding high school athletes, former coaches, school officials, or community members that have distinguished themselves and made positive contributions to the Bucyrus City School District. This year’s Hall of Fame class will include up to four individuals and one team.
“We had an outstanding inaugural class for the start of our Hall of Fame last year,” Secondary School Assistant Principal Jay Dennison said. “There are many individuals who have given selflessly to our district, and we are excited to recognize those people for their contributions.”
The district is continuing its long-standing tradition of honoring athletic accomplishments for individuals and teams that achieve certain criteria while in high school through the Athletic Wall of Fame. The Bucyrus Hall of Fame, which extends beyond individual or team accomplishments, is meant to honor those who have made a significant contribution to the Bucyrus City School District.
“Over the years, there have been many people who have made a positive contribution to the Bucyrus City School District,” Superintendent Kevin Kimmel said. “This Hall of Fame honors individuals from the Bucyrus community who have gone above and beyond to help every Bucyrus student earn a quality education.”
Those who are selected to enter the Bucyrus Hall of Fame will be honored prior to the start of a home varsity boys’ basketball game. Each member of the Hall of Fame will receive an enshrinement plaque during the ceremony.
Hall of Fame nomination forms are available at the Secondary and Elementary Schools, the Lincoln Administrative Center, inside the football programs and online at bucyrusschools.org under “Community.” To learn more about the Bucyrus Hall of Fame, please contact Jay Dennison at 419-562-0003 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
