Science Club To Host Blood Drive
The Bucyrus High School science club will host a blood drive Sept. 13, from 7:45 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. in the middle school gymnasium. If you last donated on or before July 20, 2011, you may be eligible to donate. Students interested in donating must be at least 16 years old with parental permission and a valid ID or donor card.
The science club is excited about the upcoming event and hopes members of the community will also come out and show their support. “We hope to collect at least 50 units of blood at this particular blood drive,” science club advisor Amanda Kent said. “However, our goal for the entire year is 200 units. The more people who are willing to give the better; every bit helps us reach our goal.” Raising these units of blood will enable the club to give away $750 worth of scholarships to students who donated or helped run a blood drive throughout the year.
To schedule an appointment, contact Kent at (419) 562-7721 ext.1208, or call 1-800-RED CROSS. Those interested can also register online at www.redcrossblood.org and use the sponsor code “bucyrushs.” Walk-ins are also welcomed. Participants in the blood drive will be entered into a drawing with a chance to win Ohio State Football tickets. You can make a difference. Help a save a life!
