Welcome to the Lincoln Building

In conjunction with the Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC) project, the Bucyrus City School District needed a location to house their central offices and pre-school classrooms.  While many options were carefully considered, saving Lincoln Elementary became the logical solution for a number of reasons.  Some of those reasons include: the condition of the building, that it is one level and ADA accessible, and the layout of the building was conducive to the vision for the programs to be housed therein.  Besides the day-to-day operations of the central office staff (superintendent, treasurer, EMIS, accounts payable, payroll, human resources, business operations, technology and curriculum), the Lincoln Building also houses three pre-school classrooms, the gymnasium, board room, and what will soon be an alternative learning center.

To make the building consistent with the vision, there were several renovations made such as: roof top HVAC units were installed, the layout was slightly reconfigured, the old single-pane windows were replaced with high-efficiency windows, the classrooms were re-carpeted, the fixtures were updated, new technology was integrated throughout.  While more updates are planned for the near future, all of the renovations have been paid from our permanent improvement fund (capital items to last more than five years).  Our permanent improvement fund was supplemented as a result of interest earnings from the OSFC project which came in on time and under budget.

Ultimately, we believe that the Lincoln Building has been designed in such a way to provide the community and our students with outstanding educational opportunities for many years to come!  Come see us!
