Bucyrus City Schools Finance and Audit Committee currently, the Bucyrus City Schools Finance and Audit Committee is looking for additional members. The primary task of this committee is to provide oversight of the district’s necessary financial resources to satisfy the mission of the district and to facilitate maximum learning for every student. With the ever increasing amount of regulation involved in school district finance, the district treasurer prepares financial projections and oversees the collection of revenue and the expenditure of funds.

In order to bring an increased community perspective, the Bucyrus City Schools Finance and Audit Committee serves as advisors to the board. While this is not a decision-making committee, the intent of the committee is to address state school funding issues and make recommendations for ongoing financial success of the district. This committee provides some of the following services to the district:

- Reviews and implements the District Strategic Plan goals in regard to finances for the district

- Reviews the bi-annual five year forecasts submitted to the State on the district’s behalf

- Serve as the audit committee and perform the following functions:
   o Review the results of the audit
   o Assure the audit recommendations are appropriately addressed
   o Assure auditors independence frommanagement
   o Serve as liaison between management and independent auditors

- Review the schedule of levies (timing and estimated millage amounts) based on the most current five-year projections and advises the Board.
