The Bucyrus City School District Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Administrative Center Board Room the third Thursday of each month. These regular meetings are open to the Bucyrus community.
Dr. Paul Johnson was first elected to the Bucyrus City School District Board of Education in 2008 and serves as the Board President. Dr. Johnson said he wanted to serve on the board because “education is key to success in the information-based, global economy our children must compete in, not sometime in the future, but right now.” Dr. Johnson and his wife, Winnie, have five children who all have graduated from the Bucyrus City School District. Mr. John Kime, first joined the board as an appointee to fill a vacant seat and then elected to serve a full term in 2017. Mr. Adam Stone was first elected by the Bucyrus community to serve on the board in 2012. Mr. Stone is a proud Bucyrus graduate and chose to get involved because he strongly supports the direction of the Bucyrus City School District and wants to help facilitate its continued movement in that direction. Ms. Traci Wetterau was first appointed to fill a vacant board seat in 2014 and then again in 2018. Ms. Wetterau is a retired Bucyrus teacher and chose to serve on the board to bring “a unique perspective and understanding of the school district to work with other board members, administration and staff to help ensure the students of the Bucyrus City School District get the best possible education.” Ms. Wetterau can be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
