Bucyrus Preschool and Afterschool programs fully compliant with ODE
Bucyrus City Schools is pleased to announce that both our preschool program and the elementary afterschool program are in full compliance according to the recent Ohio Department of Education (ODE) licensing inspections. Preschool Coordinator Robin Showers praised the programs saying, “Kudos to our preschool and afterschool staffs for their great work with their students and their dedication to the programs.”
The ODE licensing inspection happened during an unannounced visit, and the ODE rep spends the day reviewing and observing the programs. Showers said, “It’s an extensive process with 185 compliance areas in preschool and 134 for the afterschool program. Student and staff files, student/adult ratios, classrooms, etc. are just a few of the items that are checked during an inspection.
Superintendent Kevin Kimmel said, “We are very proud of the team effort from our staff rising to the challenge of meeting the needs of our students from the youngest ages. Being fully compliant with ODE is just one part of that larger goal.”
