Bucyrus and Wynford Elementary Schools joint Leadership Day Nov 8

Bucyrus and Wynford Elementary Schools are coming together for a joint Leadership Day on Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Both schools have been participating in Steven Covey’s Leader in Me program for several years and will be using this event to show the community what is happening inside the buildings. “We are creating tomorrow’s leaders today,” said Wynford Elementary Principal Nelle Ratliff. “The Leader in Me allows students to put themselves in the driver’s seat for both academic and personal success.”

The schedule for the day will be as follows:

  • 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – Bucyrus Elementary visit
  • 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Lunch at Bucyrus Elementary
  • 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. – Wynford Elementary visit

Highlights of the Leadership Day will include Leader in Me journeys, classroom visits with lessons on the 7 Habits, leadership clubs/tribes, a panel discussion with students, staff and parents, student-led conferences and more.

“Right now, our two schools are on that path to work together to make all of our students great leaders,” said Bucyrus Elementary Principal Tim Souder. “It doesn’t matter if you wear red or blue, we want to make Crawford County a great place to be.”
