Bucyrus Elementary students take top places in Masonic essay contest

Bucyrus Elementary School is proud to announce that Adrianna Mass and Ewelene Shultz, both fifth grader students at BES, took top honors in the Masonic Jurisdiction Essay contest for Family Life Week. Adrianna earned first place in the contest, while Ewelene was selected as the runner-up.

In her essay, Adrianna explained how her supportive family makes her who she is today. Ewelene described her close relationship with her family members and how they solve problems together in her essay. Both students were honored in a ceremony at the Masonic Temple, and each student will receive a monetary award that can be put toward a classroom purchase.

“Both Adrianna and Ewelene wrote amazing essays showcasing the love and admiration they have for their individual families,” Fifth Grade Language Arts teacher Leah Barger said. “We are so proud of Adrianna, Ewelene and all of our fifth grader students who entered the contest.”

Principal Timothy Souder speaks for all of Bucyrus Elementary when he said, “Our school is extremely proud of Adrianna and Ewelene’s demonstrated writing talent, learned skills, and initiative in entering their essays.”
