Bucyrus Elementary hosting Mobile Dentists

The Bucyrus Elementary School will host Mobile Dentists, a voluntary program for parents, during the school days of September 24, 25 and 26, at the Elementary School. Those interested in having their children participate need to return a completed application form as soon as possible to Marie Stuckman.

Mobile Dentists, a highly acclaimed on-site dental care program created in compliance with the Center for Disease Control and the U.S. Surgeon General, provides children with several preventative services such as x-rays, dental exams and screenings, cleanings, fluoride and fluoride varnish, radiographs and sealants. At the conclusion of the check-up, a dental “report card” will be completed and those needing additional services will be referred to a “Dental Home” in the area. Kindergarten students still needing their state-required dental screening will qualify through this program.

“It’s wonderful that our school is able to participate in this program,” Bucyrus Elementary School Family Advocate Marie Stuckman said. “It’s helpful to parents that are working and don’t have available transportation or access to a dentist.”

Students who partake in the Mobile Dentist program will receive a free toothbrush and sticker. If you have questions about how to fill out the form, need additional forms or need additional information, you can contact Marie Stuckman at (419) 562-6089 or via e-mail at mstuckman@bucyrusschools.org.
